Lab and prep room science technician checklist
The role of a science technician includes responsibility for the safety and maintenance of labs and prep rooms. Routine checks ensure that safety equipment and apparatus are in place and working. Regular visual checks of sinks and taps, electrical sockets and lights, bench and floor surfaces and furniture ensure that faults are promptly reported to the relevant maintenance team.
These checks should be done once the labs are unoccupied. Before or after school, or during school holidays, during normal working hours.
To help, our in house technical experts have put together a checklist to help with ensuring labs and prep rooms are safe and ready for practical science.
